When did Virat Kohli debut in international cricket?

In 2008, Kohli made his debut against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2008. The game was drawn and he did not make many runs. He got a chance to bat as an opener at the age of 20 and eventually made 44 runs – his best international score for four years.

He also debuted on the Indian team during the same year in Bangalore against Australia with a score of 12 and 54*. In 2010 he was selected to play in one test match with the West Indies tour but could not keep up with Parthiv Patel who took his spot as opener where he has been batting ever since.
