सूर्य देव की पूजा ज्यादातर लोग रविवार के दिन करते हैं क्योंकि Sunday को सूर्य देव का दिन माना जाता है। कई लोग सुबह जल्दी उठकर सूर्य को जल चढ़ाते हैं और सूर्य मंत्र या गायत्री मंत्र का जाप करते हैं। मान्यता है कि सूर्य देव energy, confidence, health और positivity का प्रतीक हैं। इसलिए लोग अच्छी सेहत, mental strength और सफलता के लिए उनकी उपासना करते हैं। कुछ लोग इसे spiritual practice के साथ healthy morning routine भी मानते हैं क्योंकि सुबह की धूप body और mind दोनों के लिए अच्छी मानी जाती है। Honestly, कई लोगों को regular सूर्य पूजा से discipline और positive mindset maintain करने में भी मदद महसूस होती है।

सूर्य देव ,जिनका नाम ही सबकी ज़िंदगी मे रौशनी भर देता है | जिनकी एक किरण ही इंसान को अँधेरे से उजाले की और ले जाती है | हर इंसान सुबह का इन्तजार करता है ताकि वो अपनी रोजाना की ज़िंदगी के काम को आगे बड़ा सके | और जो लोग सूर्य की उपासना करते है वो हर परेशानी से दूर रहते है | सूर्य देव की उपासना करने से यमराज के दूत भी इंसान से दूर रहते है |
 
वैसे तो हर रोज सूर्य देव की उपासना करना चाहिए परन्तु सूर्य देव का दिन रविवार माना जाता है इसलिए सूर्य देव को रवि भी कहते है |सूर्य देव की उपासना करने वालो के लिए यमराज खुद अपने दूतो को यह कह कर भेजते है की इन्हे कोई कष्ट न हो क्योकि ये सूर्य देव की पूजा करते है |
यमराज सूर्य देव के पुत्र है | और जो सूर्य देव की उपासना करते है उनको यम के दूत कभी कष्ट नहीं देते | जो सूर्य की उपासना करते है वो यमराज की दृष्टि मे सूर्य देव के मित्र होते है |
 
1 .यमराज के दूत उनको कभी परेशान नहीं करते जो सूर्यदेव की उपासना करते है |
2 . जो लोग सूर्य देव के नाम का यज्ञ और हवन करते है ,वो सभी परेशानियों से दूर रहते है |
3 . यमराज के दूत उनको कभी कष्ट नहीं देते जो रोज सूर्य की पूजा करते है | उनको जल ,फूल,धुप आदि देते है |
4 . सूर्य देव के मंदिर मे सफाई करने वाले लोग महान होने की गिनती मे आते है ऐसे लोगो की तीन पीढ़ी तक उन्हें कोई कष्ट नहीं होता |
5 . जिन लोगो ने घर या घर के बहार सूर्य देव का मंदिर बनवाया है ,ऐसे कुल मे जन्म लेने वाले लोग सभी चीजों से संपन्न होते है |
6 . सूर्य देव की उपासना इंसान की आँखों की रौशनी भी बढ़ाता है |

सूर्य देव जिनकी एक रोशनी से मनुष्य के जीवन में उजाला आ जाता है। क्या आप जानते हैं कि सूर्य देव की उपासना किस दिन की जाती है और उनकी उपासना में क्या-क्या करना चाहिए हम आपको यहां पर विस्तार से बताएंगे। सूर्य देवी की उपासना रविवार के दिन की जाती है क्योंकि रविवार का दिन सूर्य देव की स्तुति को समर्पित है। इस दिन व्रत रखने से भगवान भास्कर शीघ्र प्रसन्न होते हैं तथा आपकी सभी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण करते हैं। यदि आप रविवार के दिन भगवान सूर्य देव की उपासना करते हैं तो आपको मान सम्मान की प्राप्ति होती है। जो व्यक्ति सूर्य देव की पूजा करता है उसे यमराज के दूत कभी परेशान नहीं करते हैं क्योंकि यमराज सूर्य देव के पुत्र है। जो लोग सूर्य देव की उपासना करते हैं उनकी आंखों की रोशनी में बढ़ोतरी होती है।
