अगर मैं आसान और साफ तरीके से समझाऊँ, तो ऐसे बोलूँगी:

“What do you do?” का हिंदी में मतलब होता है “आप क्या करते हैं?”। यह एक सामान्य सवाल है, जो किसी व्यक्ति के काम, पेशे या रोज़मर्रा की जिम्मेदारियों के बारे में जानने के लिए पूछा जाता है।

वहीं “What do you do?” का मतलब होता है “आप क्या करते हैं?”, यानी आपका पेशा क्या है—जैसे स्टूडेंट, जॉब या बिज़नेस।

सिंपल बात:
सवाल पेशे/काम के लिए होता है।
