अक्सर आपने देखा होगा कि जब भी बारिश होती है तो उसके बाद कई बार इंद्रधनुष दिखाई देता है लेकिन क्या आपने सोचा है ऐसा क्यों होता है चलिए इसके पीछे का कारण जानते हैं। अक्सर जब भी बारिश होती है तो इसके बाद इंद्रधनुष दिखाई देने का कारण है नन्ही बूंदों का कमाल क्योंकि नन्ही नन्ही बूंदे बारिश के बाद प्रिज्म का काम करती हैं और इंद्रधनुष बनने का सिद्धांत यह है कि जब भी प्रकाश एक माध्यम से दूसरे माध्यम मैं प्रवेश करता है तो थोड़ा सा झुक जाता है। यही वजह है कि बारिश के बाद इंद्रधनुष दिखाई देता है।

देखने में यह इंद्रधनुष कितना सुन्दर लगता है लेकिन कभी हमने सोचा है आखिर ये खा से आता है और कहाँ को जाता है | तो आपको बता दें की जिस सूर्य के प्रकाश को हम सफेद समझा करते हैं, असल में वो सात अलग-अलग रंगों से मिलकर बना होता है जिसे प्रिज्म की मदद से देखा भी जा सकता है।जो की एक बेहद रोचक बात है |


इंद्रधनुष बनने में बारिश की छोटी बूंदों का बहुत बड़ा हाथ होता है क्योंकि ये बूंदें प्रिज्म की तरह काम करती हैं। एक छोटी सी बून्द में दो सतह होती हैं और सूर्य का प्रकाश जब बून्द के अंदर प्रवेश करता है तो पहली सतह से टकराकर थोड़ा झुक जाता है। ऐसा होने पर सूरज के प्रकाश में मौजूद सातों रंग बून्द में प्रवेश के बाद झुक जाते हैं और दिखाई देने लगते हैं।

इसके बाद जब सूर्य के प्रकाश में अलग-अलग हो चुके रंग दूसरी सतह से बाहर निकलते हैं तो फिर से थोड़ा-थोड़ा झुक जाते हैं। ऐसे में एक रंग की पट्टी दूसरे रंग से अलग हो जाती है और इस तरह दो बार झुकने के कारण ही आसमान में हमें रंगीन धनुष जैसी आकृति दिखाई देने लगती है जिसे हम इंद्रधनुष कहते हैं।


इंद्रधनुष में दिखाई देने वाले रंग बैंगनी, जामुनी, नीला, हरा, पीला, नारंगी और लाल (VIBGYOR) होते हैं जो एक निश्चित क्रम में दिखते हैं। लाल रंग का प्रकाश कम मुड़ता है इसलिए इंद्रधनुष में सबसे ऊपर दिखाई देता है जबकि बैंगनी रंग का प्रकाश ज्यादा मुड़ता है इसलिए इंद्रधनुष में सबसे नीचे होता है।


बारिश की बूंदों पर गिरने वाली सूरज की किरणों का दो बार अपवर्तन और एक बार परावर्तन होने पर इंद्रधनुष बनता है। इसे प्राथमिक इंद्रधनुष भी कहते हैं। उम्मीद है आपको जवाब मिला होगा और आप इस जवाब से संतुष्ट होंगें |

बारिश के बाद कई बार इंद्रधनुष इसलिए दिखता है क्योंकि सूर्य की रोशनी पानी की बूंदों से गुजरते समय टूटकर अलग-अलग रंगों में बंट जाती है।

सरल भाषा में समझें तो जब बारिश होती है, तब हवा में बहुत सारी छोटी-छोटी पानी की बूंदें होती हैं। जब इन बूंदों पर सूरज की रोशनी पड़ती है, तो वह अंदर जाकर मुड़ती है और फिर बाहर निकलते समय सात रंगों में बिखर जाती है। यही रंग हमें आसमान में इंद्रधनुष के रूप में दिखाई देते हैं।

इंद्रधनुष हमेशा तब दिखता है जब एक तरफ बारिश हो रही हो और दूसरी तरफ सूरज निकल आया हो।
